An Engagement Ring Inspired by Gentle Ocean Waves, Quietly Given Before the Promise

About a year ago, at the Fukuoka Tenjin Atelier,

the couple who entrusted the making of their wedding rings.

This blog looks ahead to their wedding,

and tells the story of a man who created an engagement ring as a surprise.

We will share the man's feelings and the care taken in selecting the ring.

What sparked the engagement ring selection

When they first started looking for a ring,

'I don't think we need an engagement ring','

the woman said, and

so the two of them had only wedding rings prepared.

Six months after the delivery of the wedding rings, on a winter day,

the man sent a message.

"When the topic of an engagement ring came up during the betrothal,

I felt that perhaps they truly wanted an engagement ring," the man shared with us.

After that, he visited the atelier again on his own,

and, in order to give it to the two of them on their wedding day in spring,

the engagement ring was made for her without her knowledge.

A heartfelt engagement ring creation

What the man wanted to give was a classic engagement ring design.

The chosen one was,

the ring named "Onda", imagined as a wave.

Viewed from the side, the setting holding the diamonds forms a gentle wave.

Earlier, when deciding the design of their wedding rings,

the woman valued a flowing, water-like movement.

“carrying happiness”

and meaning that it would continue without interruption,

the wave motif of the ring "Onda" resonated with the couple's own wedding rings.

The abstract and beautiful sensibilities she possessed are also clearly alive in the engagement ring.

To further highlight the freshness of the wave spray,

small melee diamonds were reinterpreted as blue diamonds.

While keeping the base as a classic engagement ring,

to avoid becoming too distinctive,

they thoughtfully considered the placement of the blue diamonds.

So that the impression changes with the way it is worn,

blue diamonds were deliberately placed on only one side.

"So that their future, no matter which direction it may take, would shine beautifully."

Carrying the man's warm, quiet sentiments,

the two of them now have a wonderful engagement ring.

The wedding day arrived

And then, on a fine spring day,

the couple prepared themselves and, before the ceremony, had a short moment together.

They spoke their thanks along with letters they had written,

and presented the rings together with the note,

'Here's to our future together'.

The woman was surprised by the man's unexpected surprise and shed tears, she later said.

Both are rings imbued with the wish for eternity—the wedding ring and the engagement ring.

The two beautiful rings resting on their hands would bind their bond even more tightly, and we would be very pleased.

A future for the two of them that continues without end

One month after the wedding,

the couple visited the atelier, and we were shown the wonderful photos from the day.

"We were very nervous," "We didn't notice at all!"

They spoke happily, and their smiles were heart-warming,

and it was a privilege to help create a special moment for the two of them,

which is, above all, a concierge's greatest happiness.

We feel deeply grateful to have had the privilege of meeting such a lovely couple,

and we are full of thanks.

Like the tide, may many blessings come to the two of them.

We sincerely pray for their lasting happiness.
