It was late March when we first met the couple, on a warm, sunlit day.
“We are looking for a matte, simple wedding ring,” they told me.
I still remember that conversation as if it were yesterday.
The Gentle Embrace of the Legato Shape
The couple chose "Legato."
"Legato" is a musical term meaning to connect notes and play them smoothly. This wedding ring carries the wish to never forget the gratitude for the bond that has united the couple.
The ring’s gentle shape seemed to embrace their fingers perfectly.
To make it blend even more seamlessly into everyday life, the bride adjusted the width of her ring, choosing to make it slightly thinner for a more understated look.
Tsuchime Aki Chosen from Many Matte Options
During the fitting, they mentioned, “The subtle matte finish is lovely, but a shiny polished surface also suits a wedding band.”
The couple, whose theme was natural wedding rings, decided to make their rings special by applying a polished finish on the right half and a Tsuchime Aki hammer finish on the left half.
The Tsuchime Aki, with its soft texture reminiscent of autumn’s delicate clouds, matched the couple’s aesthetic perfectly.
From Fittings to Delivery
To ensure the width was just right, the bride had a prototype ring made and tried it on.
“Perhaps a little thicker... or maybe thinner is more natural,” she pondered, spending much time carefully considering her choice.
I believe that through the process of trying on the rings, it became even more meaningful and filled with her personal sentiments.
Finally, the day of delivery arrived.
Seeing their smiles when they first laid eyes on the rings gave me such reassurance.
I was also touched when they took many photos of their rings.
Later, the couple sent me a warm message, and I truly felt blessed to have been part of their journey in creating these special rings.
Thank you so much.
I look forward to meeting you both again at the Omiya Atelier, and wish you a lifetime of happiness together.
