A Wedding Ring with a Simple Design and a Paw Print-Inspired Stone Setting

I first met them about a year ago.
The couple, who live with two cats, chose to register their marriage on February 22nd—“Cat Day”.

With the uniqueness of a custom-made ring, they arrived at a design that truly reflects who they are.

Let me introduce their wedding rings.

Important Considerations for Wearing a Ring for a Lifetime

They initially had the image of a simple ring in mind.

They also shared their thoughts:
"Since we have different tastes, we don't necessarily have to have perfectly matching rings." They wanted to prioritize what suited each of them best.

As they tried on various samples at ith, they were drawn to rings with multiple facets and unique shapes. However, in the end, they realized that a simple and timeless design would be the best fit.

The ring they ultimately chose, saying "This is the one!" was "Andante."
Its softly rounded shape and comfortable fit were the deciding factors.

Since they both preferred a slightly thicker band, they customized it to 3.0mm in width.
Even though they initially thought their designs might end up different, they were delighted to have matching shapes in the end!

The groom preferred a matte texture that blends naturally with the skin.
Among the many matte finishes, he was drawn to "Honing," the deepest matte texture.

To further enhance the natural feel, he chose white gold for the metal.
The result was a simple yet sophisticated and stylish ring.

On the other hand, the bride preferred a glossy, reflective finish.
"The texture that suits our hands is different, after all."
With this thought in mind, she selected a mirror polish that felt just right for her.

For the metal, she chose yellow gold, which complements her skin tone beautifully.

Using the same shape as a base, yet tailoring the finish to their individual tastes, they created a perfectly matching pair that truly reflects who they are.

A Special Touch on the Inside

When considering the design of the wedding rings they would wear for a lifetime, the most important thing for them was to ensure the rings reflected who they are.

They also wondered, "We want to keep the design simple, but can we include something related to cats?"

To make their rings extra special, I suggested a custom detail that only a made-to-order ring could offer.

The unique feature was a paw print-inspired stone setting on the inside of the ring.

Since they were getting married on February 22nd (Cat Day) and live with two cats, we set a single amethyst inside each ring—the birthstone for February—as a representation of their two beloved cats.

I still remember how excited they were:
"That’s going to be so cute! We can’t wait to see the finished rings!"

The Moment They Saw Their Rings

On the day of delivery, I saw the biggest smiles on their faces!
After eagerly awaiting their rings, the moment of opening the box was even more special.

Their custom-made rings, filled with personal touches, looked absolutely perfect on their hands.
Seeing them so happy made me feel truly grateful.

Almost a year has passed since their wedding. By now, their rings must have settled even more naturally into their daily lives.

I hope they continue to enjoy not only wearing their rings but also the way they change over time.

I look forward to seeing them again at the atelier!
