A lovely couple visited the Ginza Atelier, sharing with joy how they found rings they liked on the ith website, saying, “They’re so cute!”
After carefully considering their rings, they arrived at a design that perfectly represented their uniqueness. Let’s take a look at their journey.
Their Concerns
Before trying on the rings, I asked the couple about their preferences, and the bride was drawn to rings that had a "sparkling" appearance, while the groom preferred "simple" designs.
They also shared a wish: "Since our tastes and thoughts are often completely opposite, we’d love to have something in common with our rings."
As we tried on various samples, it became clear that their tastes were quite different.
The groom sighed, "It seems like we won’t have matching rings," but I felt that both of them were hesitant to choose their favorite rings, wanting to respect each other’s preferences. So, I said, "Perhaps you’re both thinking, ‘I want the other to wear what they love.’ Since these rings are something you’ll wear for many years, I believe it’s important to choose something that you each truly like—it would be more ‘you’ this way."
"You're right! That’s more us!" they responded, their faces lighting up with smiles. "If we chose something just to match, we’d regret it. We’ll choose what we really like!"
I remember feeling so happy when I saw their joyful expressions.
Then they chose "Ronde" and "Cantabile."
The groom’s favourite was "Ronde," a ring with the musical term meaning "to repeat a melody."
He liked its straight, rounded, and simple shape.
The matte and subtle texture also suited him perfectly.
The bride’s favourite is "Cantabile."
This design incorporates the meaning of the musical term "to play in a singing style," reflected in its delicate design.
The ring features a subtle twist that elegantly enhances the appearance of the fingers, while the way the diamond gently sparkles has been carefully chosen to add a touch of brilliance.
By combining the meanings of these two musical terms, we were able to create a special wish: "May the joy of singing continue forever." This resulted in a pair of rings that were uniquely theirs, even though they chose different designs!
Putting Their Memories into the Rings
The couple wanted to add a personal touch to their rings by engraving something meaningful on the inside.
They shared their wish to have an engraving that symbolised their unity, so we discussed the possibilities with excitement.
They told me about their shared hobbies and date memories, and we decided to engrave something from one of their trips to an aquarium.
The engraving featured their favourites - a penguin and a sunfish, facing each other.
Though they were slightly worried about how the engraving would turn out, I assisted them, and the engraving was completed with a special attention to detail that was unique to the couple!
A Ring That Brings Smiles
The couple’s custom rings were unique to them, and I will never forget their joyous smiles when they received them.
Seeing the rings perfectly fitting each of their hands and the sparkling expressions on their faces as they admired their rings, I couldn't help but feel overjoyed as well!
They were due to marry on October 8th, the “Eternal Day.” I hope their wedding was everything they dreamed of, and that they are now happily married.
As a concierge, it was truly an honour to help create these lifelong rings for them.
The time we spent in the atelier talking about the ring and about the couple themselves is a very precious memory for me!
t was so heartwarming to feel that they both enjoyed your time at the atelier, and I could really sense their feelings through it!
I hope the path you both walk together will be filled with joy and laughter.
I look forward to the day we can meet again!
Wishing you a lifetime of happiness!
