About a month after the proposal, on a weekend, the couple visited the Ginza Atelier.
They wanted to incorporate the special memory of the proposal day into their rings, which was such a wonderful wish.
Recalling a Memorable Scene
The couple had promised to marry each other on a cruise dinner under a full moon one evening.
I wanted to find a design that would remind them of that moment and bring happiness whenever they looked at their rings.
For the base of the wedding band, they chose the "Mobius Uno," with a distinctive twist at the top.
The movement of the metal in the twisted section reminded of the gentle waves of the sea.
They then chose to add a texture from the "Piuma" engraving on the surface.
The soft, delicate shine of the engraving reflected the moonlight on the water’s surface, creating a beautiful pair of rings.
The Engagement Ring Chosen with Great Care
When it came to the wedding band, the couple focused on their shared story.
However, for the engagement ring, which was to be worn by the lady, we decided to fully incorporate her preferences and create a design she truly loved.
She had previously read about ith's designs on our blog and was particularly drawn to the "Arrow," which features cute milgrain detailing on the top and bottom.
After trying on various designs in the atelier, the "Arrow" stood out as the one that could balance everyday wearability with specialness, and they chose it.
Interestingly, the day of the proposal was also the lady’s birthday.
The birthstone of the month, ruby, which corresponds to such an important day, was set as the side stone in the "Arrow."
Choosing the Diamond with Care
Once the design was chosen, the couple focused on selecting the perfect diamond to be set at the center.
They wanted a diamond that was large enough to wear often while maintaining the special feel of an engagement ring. They decided on a 0.2ct diamond, which perfectly fulfilled both wishes.
Among the options, this particular diamond shone brighter than the rest, giving the ring an added sense of specialness. They chose a diamond with a Sarine Profile Report.
The evaluation report provided by Sarine Technologies includes an assessment of the diamond's brilliance, which cannot be judged solely by the traditional 4Cs (color, clarity, cut, and carat). This report visualizes and evaluates the "quality of shine."
Additionally, this is an electronic report, and it allows you to see where the diamond was mined, how the rough stone was planned, and the steps taken to polish it into its current shape. The diamond's journey can be explored visually.
While diamonds may seem similar at first glance, this unique one represented a once-in-a-lifetime encounter.
They also appreciated the unique encounter and the one-of-a-kind appeal that could not be found anywhere else.
The Moment the Rings Were Delivered
After a two-month production period, the rings, which had been crafted with great care, were finally ready to be delivered. The moment I handed the rings to the couple, I felt so nervous and excited.
The joy on their faces when they first saw the finished rings exceeded even their expectations, and that moment remains etched in my memory.
As the journey of the diamond continues, now intertwined with the couple’s memories, I will quietly watch over their future together.
I look forward to hearing more of their new memories when they come back to the atelier one day.
