When I returned to my hometown in Shikoku, I reunited with a friend for the first time in ten years.
She had recently gotten married and was discussing wedding rings with her husband.
When I mentioned that I work as a concierge at ith, she happily said, "Rather than choosing a brand-name ring, I’d love to have one made by a friend!"
And so, their ring consultation began.
This time, I’d like to introduce the wedding rings of this special couple.
The Rings That Captured Their Hearts
Since the groom’s family is from the Kanto region, they planned a visit and were able to have their design consultation at the Ginza Atelier.
It was a special moment—discussing rings in Ginza with a longtime friend from my hometown.
The couple, who work as organic vegetable farmers, have a natural and warm presence.
Rather than classic, sparkling wedding rings, they preferred something with unique character.
After trying on various samples, the ring that captivated them the most was "Legna"—a distinctive design with vertical lines resembling tree bark, created by hammering with a special technique.
Of course, the natural design was a key attraction, but the durability by the forging method was also an important factor.
Since their work involves handling soil and heavy objects, choosing a strong and long-lasting wedding ring was essential.
A Handmade Engagement Ring
Another reason they chose "Legna" was its connection to a deeply meaningful engagement ring.
For the proposal, the groom had crafted a bamboo ring by hand. The resemblance between this cherished engagement ring and the Legna's design made it feel like destiny.
(The ring on the right is the handmade bamboo engagement ring.)
They selected a yellow gold finish that blended beautifully with their skin tones.
Each ring was customized to suit their hands—3.2mm and 2.0mm in width.
A delightful coincidence: when stacked together, their wedding rings perfectly matched the width of the engagement ring!
A wedding ring is a tangible expression of your commitment to marriage. Seeing how the engagement ring, filled with heartfelt meaning, was beautifully reflected in the design—almost as if it was lovingly split into two—felt truly unique to the couple and deeply moved me.
Handcrafted Engraving with a Special Meaning
For their matching rings, they wanted an engraving that reflected their values.
Using hand-stamped engraving, which carries the warmth of craftsmanship, they inscribed each other’s names—symbolizing a heartfelt "gift" to one another.
From the design to the engraving, every detail was carefully chosen, making these truly unique wedding rings.
Rings That Grow with Time
The rings were delivered by mail, and I later heard that they eagerly waited together for their arrival—an image that made me smile.
I feel deeply grateful to have been part of their meaningful ring.
As you wear your rings together over time, they will gradually change and develop their own character. May they grow even more uniquely yours.
May these rings, filled with shared emotions, become even more cherished as the years pass.
I look forward to seeing them again, rings on their hands, the next time I return home!
