What the couple wanted to achieve with their custom-made
The couple had important points they wanted to cherish.
Firstly, they wished to engrave an illustration drawn by the woman's grandfather.
Her grandfather was skilled at drawing and had worked as an illustrator.
They brought his illustration drawn in a soft, overseas-style face illustration on paper.
They really wanted to include the faces he drew thinking of them.
Since rings are inherently small, any illustration engraved on them would also be small.
Therefore, they chose the wider "Roccia" as the base.
The man's ring was 5.0mm wide, and the woman's was 4.0mm, providing a generous width.
By increasing the width, the illustration on their rings became quite prominent.
Two different textures were applied by the craftsman
Secondly, as both are Geminis, they desired to incorporate two different textures on the surface of the rings.
The surface of the "Roccia" features ith's original texture,
created by pressing and rolling on an iron plate to produce a unique feel.
Both of them chose this vintage-feel processing and added another different texture that each favored.
The man chose a bumpy "Autumn" texture, made by hammering with a tool.
The woman opted for the "Mese" processing, which creates a beautiful impression with its grid-like woven pattern.
They were very fond of the way these textures naturally transitioned when worn.
Incorporating two textures is a challenging technique.
Nevertheless, to fulfill their wishes, our artisans skillfully integrated both textures, demonstrating their professional expertise.
The ring that will watch over the future of the couple
The rings, which were made in a great hurry, are now safely in the couple's hands.
Upon delivery, the couple was delighted to see the engraved illustration.
We hope they are doing well in the U.S.
After spending a few years together,
they mentioned that they would come back to Japan again.
