A Custom-Made Wedding Ring with Benitoite

A couple first visited our Kichijoji Atelier in January last year.

Both of them have a fondness for gemstones and colored stones, especially the deep blue hue and the seven-colored brilliance of "Benitoite."

Rare Stone “Benitoite”

Benitoite, known for its clear blue color, has a brilliance similar to that of a diamond, displaying seven colors.

Since the mine has closed, it's rare to find on the market, making the stones available quite limited.

When the couple first visited our atelier in January, securing enough loose stones was challenging, and we initially had to decline their request.

"Even if we can't use Benitoite, we still want to make our rings with ith," they kindly said.

After several months, we were able to secure the Benitoite loose stones they desired, leading to the creation of their dream Benitoite wedding bands.

Design with Benitoite as the Star

Upon revisiting the atelier, we discussed and redefined the ideal design together.

Their wish was for a design where "Benitoite takes center stage."

A simple straight ring with the stone set in the center, arranged to enhance the brilliance of Benitoite with their preferred metal and texture.

For the man, platinum with a glossy hairline finish was chosen for a fresh and calm impression.

The woman chose an antique atmosphere with elegance, achieved through delicate mese finish detailing on yellow gold.

While Benitoite remains the focal point, the design also incorporates each of their preferences, culminating in a creation unique to the two of them.

A Special Engraving Filled with Emotion

Inside the ring, we incorporated a special engraving based on an original illustration carefully crafted by the man using papercutting.

On the left side, "water lilie reflected on the water surface," and on the right, "swallow and goldfish."

The special engraving that completes when the two rings are stacked together symbolizes their connection.

This unique feature has become a cherished memory for the couple, marking a special milestone in their relationship.

The Perfect Custom-Made Wedding Bands

Upon delivery, they both showed their brightest smiles and said, "We've made the perfect rings!"

About 11 months after their first visit to our atelier, the moment they saw their completed wedding rings was also deeply moving for me as a concierge.

Benitoite is associated with the word "hope."

May the sparkle of Benitoite on your fingers always be a light of hope for both of you.

We wish you happiness for many years to come.
