We use both "casting" and "forging" to create your ideal wedding ring.

Forged wedding rings with more strength and elegance

The ith wedding ring collection will be joined by 10 new pairs of forged ring designs.

Forging" is a process of increasing the strength of metal by hitting it with a hammer and forging it under pressure. It has been used by sword smiths since ancient times, and today it is a trusted technique that is also applied to the processing of industrial parts such as airplanes.

"Because these wedding rings will be used for a long time, we want to be particular about their strength."

To meet the needs of our customers, we would like to introduce the ith forged collection, with a comparison to "casting" in this issue.

The difference between "casting" and "forging

In addition to forging, there is "casting" in the ring manufacturing process.

About Casting

All ith rings to date have been produced by casting. Broadly speaking, casting is a process of pouring heated metal into a ring mold, and is excellent for expressing curves and delicate designs, and is suited to flexible design arrangements.

ith wedding and engagement ring designs are characterized by soft roundness, organic curves, and meticulous handcrafted decoration. This makes them a perfect match for casting production.

Forging

Forging, the newest addition to the group, is a process in which ingots are heated, hammered, and pressurized to produce the finished product.

The process of applying pressure, such as beating, is essential to increase the density of metal to metal by expelling air and gas from the inside of the metal.

Forging is harder and stronger than casting, and the result is more dignified and elegant. On the other hand, because of the process of applying pressure, it is not suitable for soft curves and wavering silhouettes.

You can choose according to the features of the design you prefer, the durability of the ring, and other points that are important to you.

Forging + cutting technique for a neat design

The forging collection is supported by a collaboration with Fujimori, an engraving studio in Sangenjaya, Tokyo, established in 1970. Not only forging, but also a lathe processing technique called "cutting" is used to create rings with rich expressions.

The thickness and width can be finished uniformly, creating a sense of quality in a simple design.

The design is elegant, precise, and tight. Regardless of age, you can finish a ring that you can wear with confidence forever.

The Forging Collection is available in a total of five colors, and the new K18 champagne gold and K18 lime gold colors are exclusive to the Forging Collection.
