She was Duck, named after her favorite animal.
He was Onigiri, with a seaweed wrapped around like a "jacket" as he gets cold often.
In the beginning, there was only Onigiri
He walked into our store alone, eager to share his proposal plans.
His idea was simple yet breathtaking: to propose during their trip to Japan,
in front of the iconic Mt. Fuji at Lake Kawaguchiko.
"I think a ring that's practical to wear would suit her best as she's a birdkeeper."
He was drawn to Roccia, with its textured surface and low-dome profile,
a perfect balance of elegance and functionality.
Then, with a twinkle in his eye, he added,
"I think she'll love it if we engrave a duck inside. I'll bring her back to meet you!"
And off he went on his mission...
...which was a success!
Then there were two
Not long after, they returned to our atelier, but this time, as a pair.
That’s when I finally met Duck.
They shared their sweet story: during the proposal,
her attention was momentarily stolen by a swan gliding across the lake.
As a birdkeeper, she was thrilled by the unexpected visitor.
When she turned back, there he was on one knee.
The swan’s presence felt like a blessing, a symbol of love and lifelong devotion,
perfectly fitting for the moment.
When it came to their rings, they wanted something that told their story.
He decided on Roccia for himself, too, and together they excitedly planned their engravings:
a duck, an onigiri, and Mt. Fuji, a heartfelt nod to their proposal.
Duck, who had once been a graphic designer, drew the illustrations herself.
It was clear these engravings weren’t just details,
they were pieces of their shared journey, tiny symbols carrying big meaning.
Rings, though small, are companions for a lifetime.
It’s often the tiniest details, like a hand-drawn engraving of a memory
etched in their forever bands, that bring the greatest joy.
They say a picture is worth a thousand words;
these rings are their love story, captured in a language only they truly understand.
