The consultation with the couple regarding their wedding rings was conducted in two sessions.
It took place over two visits.
When they visited for the second time,
“In the end, no matter which other brands they visited, they couldn't forget this design...!!”
“This design would be imitated!”
They spoke those words to us.
The two were captivated by,
rings produced by expert craftsmanship that cannot be replicated elsewhere,
an ith ring that is quintessentially ith.
A finish that blends hand-fit comfort with a unique sense of exclusivity
The design that captivated them when they first visited was "Piuma".
When it comes to wedding rings, platinum is known for its bright shine,
they sought to have it sit close to the skin,
and were looking for matte gold rings.
The couple, who had not easily found their desired design,
at ith, which offers a wide range of gold designs,
there were so many favourites that they couldn't choose.
Among them,
the carving enhances the reflections of light,
and it changes its expression depending on the viewing angle,
the design that stands apart is this feather motif.
Not only comfort but also a sense of fit
In the second consultation, they said, "Incorporating the Piuma finish is confirmed,"
and I recall the couple's fresh, resolute expressions as they made their decision.
The straight design of Piuma was also pleasing,
but they wondered if there might be an even more preferred shape,
and the consultation continued with a shift in viewpoint.
"They valued having the ring sit comfortably on the hand,"
in a hand where there are no straight lines,
a soft, U-shaped curve leads to a sense of fit
they grew fond of "Legato".
With a chunky, voluminous design,
they also liked the carved patterns of Piuma
and liked that many could be included.
Subtly different ways of applying texture
The rings, when laid side by side, have a strong sense of matching.
In fact, the direction of the carvings is
tailored to each preference.
For men, when the palm is viewed,
so that a subtle star would glint,
the feathers fan out from the centre of the palm.
For women, the star is visible from the front,
and on the palm the carving does not clash
their carving direction is unidirectional.
Because the carvings are hand-carved,
such freedom is another of ith’s attractions.
Warm words and the wishes embedded in the rings
During the second consultation, when bidding them farewell,
they said, "Design matters, but who it is bought from matters as well. It has to be Mr Yajima!"
and offered the warmest words imaginable.
These words brought tears to the eyes,
and being entrusted as their concierge
was filled with gratitude.
To repay them in some way, at delivery time,
a message on a limited-edition card was given;
which carried a message from me.
From the atelier, a wish for the couple's lasting happiness,
and that the ring crafted would safeguard their bright future,
I believe they will continue to watch over their future.
