The couple had originally been drawn to the warmth and character that only handcrafted jewellery can hold.
During the consultations, the way they carefully examined each ring one by one left a lasting impression on me.
We became so absorbed in conversation that before we realised it, it had grown completely dark outside.
Comfort for long-term wear
The design they ultimately found was “Oblique,”
chosen for both its comfortable fit and the flowing brilliance of its diamonds.
So it could be worn naturally in everyday life,
the centre diamond was selected in a slightly smaller size.
Because these are rings to be worn for a lifetime,
they did not want to compromise on how the rings would feel against the hand.
While preserving the character of “Oblique,”
the edges touching the neighbouring fingers were softly rounded for greater comfort.
Seeing the relieved smiles on their faces when they said,
“This feels like something we can wear forever,”
made me truly happy.
An engagement ring infused with the colours of the memorable bouquet
Because the rings were made to order,
the couple hoped to include something that felt unmistakably like themselves.
That feeling took shape through vivid pink and blue gemstones.
The proposal was a moment where he shared his feelings with her,
and they spoke about wanting to capture the colours of the bouquet he had given her that day within the ring.
As we looked through photographs together and discussed where the gemstones should be placed,
the time we spent excitedly saying, “That’s so beautiful!” together became an unforgettable memory for me as well.
Engravings that align in harmony
For the wedding rings, the couple prioritised their individual preferences above all else.
From their conversations about comfort,
he was drawn to “Grave,” appreciating the way its wave shape fit naturally against the hand.
She preferred “Milgrain,” with its straight silhouette and gentle rounded softness.
Through their own individual sensibilities,
they each found the shape that felt most comfortable to wear.
What ultimately connected the two rings was a handcrafted engraving that reflects the skill of the artisans.
They chose to incorporate the Japanese hand engraving of “Erba,” inspired by traditional Japanese craftsmanship, into both rings.
Even details such as the number and appearance of the laurel leaves were carefully considered,
so the rings could reveal different expressions depending on how they were worn and viewed.
At first, the couple had spoken about simply choosing “what each person likes.”
But in the end, they arrived at a design where their shared appreciation for handcrafted artistry also created a beautiful sense of unity.
Together with the memories yet to be made
The time spent carefully giving shape to each memory and detail the couple treasured
will surely remain, together with the rings, as warm memories that continue to accompany their everyday lives.
I sincerely look forward to one day seeing these rings again,
gently marked by the memories of the life the two of you will continue to share.
Please feel free to visit the atelier again anytime.
