During the cold winter season, a gentleman casually dropped by the Kichijoji Atelier one evening.
When we spoke in more detail, he revealed that he was planning to propose the following week.
"I wanted to check out other brands, but it felt hard to walk in..." he said, initially looking a bit nervous.
The Diamond Proposal
Among the various proposal methods introduced by ith, he chose the "Diamond Proposal."
This involves preparing only the diamond, which will later be set in the engagement ring, to propose to his partner.
The natural yet elegant preserved flower box with a single radiant diamond in the center creates a sense of surprise and specialness.
Since it can be delivered in as little as the same day to about three weeks, this proposal method is perfect for those planning a proposal on short notice.
Natural diamonds are one-of-a-kind.
At the atelier, customers compare diamonds and imagine how the engagement ring would be crafted, selecting the perfect diamond for the proposal.
Thinking of their partner, the couple took their time to choose a special diamond, considering things like, "What about something not too flashy, but suitable for everyday wear" and "I want to give a diamond with a focus on quality."
After the Proposal...
"The proposal was a big success!!"
A few days after the diamond was delivered, they sent a happy update.
This time, they both came to the atelier together.
Meeting the partner for the first time and hearing the proposal story made the time we spent together as a concierge incredibly joyful.
With the diamond from the proposal in hand, they began the fun process of designing the engagement ring together.
Memorable Design Consultation at the Atelier
"I want to give an engagement ring, but I don't know what design to choose."
"I want to give my partner their absolute favorite design."
"I'm worried because I don't know partner's ring size..."
These are some of the concerns many may have when preparing for a proposal.
The Diamond Proposal allows for design selection and size measurement after the proposal, making it a great choice for those unsure about design or size.
The couple also took their time and enjoyed their visit to the atelier.
Among the many designs they tried on, the lady chose "Petits Clous."
This engagement ring has small melee diamonds on the sides, offering a simple yet charming design.
The classic engagement ring look and the way the central diamond stands out were key points for them.
Together, they crafted a unique engagement ring that combined "the diamond chosen with the gentleman’s heartfelt thoughts" and "the lady’s favorite design."
Wedding Bands That Reflect Their Preferences
Along with the engagement ring, they also entrusted us with their wedding bands.
Initially, they had completely different preferences in both color and style.
Taking into account the engagement ring and how it would pair with the wedding rings, we worked together to find designs that truly represented them.
He chose the "Vivace," a wedding ring with an S-shape curve that fits snugly at the base of the finger, a feature he loved for its comfort.
Though he initially preferred a gold tone, they ultimately decided to go with platinum to match the lady’s ring and maintain a classic wedding ring feel.
The lady favored "Croce," a design featuring two intertwined rings.
It’s stunning on its own but pairs beautifully with "Petits Clous," creating a more special look when worn together.
Although the original design was thinner, they opted to increase the thickness for durability, considering the long-term wear of the rings.
The three rings they chose - while the designs differ, they achieved a sense of unity through shared elements like the platinum color, mirror finish, and the upward-right design of the wedding bands. These details created a sense of togetherness unique to them.
The Delivery of the Rings
At the atelier, when they came to pick up their rings, their radiant smiles made me feel so happy.
The diamond and the three rings, each filled with their thoughts and personal touches, will continue to shine brightly as part of their lives.
From the atelier, we wish them endless happiness and joy with their rings.
