Emerald

May Birthstone

Zodiac stones for Taurus, Cancer and Capricorn

Feature

This is the name given to the green gemstone in the mineral beryl. Within the same beryl, those that are light blue are called aquamarine. Emeralds are fragile gems, so the octagonal emerald cut, in which the four corners of a square are cut at an angle, was developed to prevent chipping and cracking. Emeralds, with their beautiful green color, are also famous as Cleopatra's favorite gemstone.
